Artwork guidelines
PDF in CMYK is preferred. Use sufficient image resolution for the final size and embed fonts or convert them to outlines. Keep important elements away from trim edges.
Where are large-format posters used?
Large-format posters work best for indoor displays in shops, offices, restaurants, galleries, hotels, schools, showrooms, exhibitions and events. They can be framed, hung on a wall, placed in a display stand or positioned behind a shop window.
Compared with PVC banners, paper posters look lighter and more natural in interiors. They suit promotions, seasonal menus, event announcements, customer information, decoration and temporary displays. The print can be replaced easily when a campaign changes.
For outdoor fences, facades or other exposed locations, a banner or self-adhesive film is usually more suitable. A paper poster can still be used in a shop window when it is mounted on the inside, behind the glass.
Choose a poster size for the viewing distance
Match the format to the display area and the distance from which people will read it. Smaller posters work near a counter, noticeboard or narrow window; larger formats are easier to see at entrances, in halls and at exhibitions.

Indoor poster or outdoor advertising?
Poster paper is intended mainly for interiors and sheltered locations. It looks good in a frame, display stand, on an inside wall or behind glass, but it is not as weather-resistant as a PVC banner or self-adhesive film.
For outdoor use, choose a material for the actual conditions: rain, moisture, sunlight, wind, mounting method and display period. A banner is usually a better choice for a fence or facade; film is often better for glass or a smooth panel.
A poster mounted behind a shop-window pane from the inside is a common exception. The paper remains protected while the graphic is visible from the street.
What to include in a poster enquiry
Tell us the finished size, quantity and where the poster will be displayed: in a frame, stand, shop window or on a wall. For a ready-made frame, provide its exact inner dimensions or the standard format, such as A1, A0, B1 or B0.
Mention if the poster will be handled often or displayed where it may get dirty. We can then advise whether an additional protective finish or a different material is worth considering.
Format
Give dimensions in centimetres or a standard size: A2, A1, A0, B1 or B0.
Quantity
State how many copies you need and whether they all use the same artwork.
Display location
Tell us whether it will be framed, behind glass, on a wall or at an event.

Frequently asked questions
Can I test print quality before placing a larger order?
Yes. Order one test print first, especially for photographs, artwork reproductions or colour-critical images. A proof helps you check the result before confirming the full quantity.
Can posters be laminated?
Yes. Matte or gloss lamination helps protect against scratches and fingerprints and can be useful in areas with more moisture or handling. It is an additional option and cost, so mention it when requesting a quote.
Which artwork files should I send?
Send a PDF or TIFF in CMYK, usually at around 100 dpi at final size. For scaled artwork, increase the resolution proportionally and state the scale. We can convert Adobe RGB or sRGB photographs, but a CMYK file prepared for solvent printing usually gives the most predictable result.
Which poster sizes are available?
Standard formats include A2, A1, A0, B1 and B0. Custom sizes are available up to a maximum print width of 158 cm. Use the calculator above to enter the required dimensions.
