When is frosted film a good solution?
It is ideal where glass should continue to transmit light but direct visibility needs to be reduced. Common applications include offices, meeting rooms, clinics, restaurants and glazed entrance areas.
What is frosted window film?
It is a self-adhesive decorative film that produces a uniform matt effect on smooth glass. It is often used as an alternative to sandblasted or satin glass because the existing pane can remain in place.
The film may cover the full pane or be cut into stripes, logos and custom shapes. Larger installations require careful planning of panel joins and alignment.
Privacy without complete blackout
The film diffuses light and makes direct viewing more difficult, but it is not a blackout or solar-control product. Shapes and movement may still be visible depending on distance, lighting and film type.
For spaces requiring a high level of discretion, send a photo and the required privacy height so the layout can be checked before production.
Measurements and installation
The glass must be smooth, clean and free from silicone, grease, dust and adhesive residue. Structured or coated glass may not provide reliable adhesion.
For a quotation, provide the width and height of every pane, the number of panes and a straight-on photo showing frames, handles and divisions.
Artwork for logos and patterns
Simple stripes and rectangles only require accurate dimensions. Logos and patterns should be supplied as vector artwork, preferably PDF, AI or EPS, with fonts converted to outlines.
When a design continues across several panes, specify the installation height and intended alignment.

Will frosted film darken the room?
It reduces direct visibility but still allows a large amount of daylight through. The exact effect depends on the film and area covered.
Can a logo be cut from the film?
Yes. Logos, lettering and simple patterns can be plotter-cut from vector artwork.
Can the film be removed later?
Usually yes. Removal depends on age, glass type and adhesive. Any residue can normally be cleaned with a suitable glass-safe product.
Is it suitable for textured glass?
Only in limited cases. Smooth, clean glass is required for reliable adhesion.
