One Way Vision is a perforated printed film used on glazing. From outside, viewers mainly see the graphic; from inside, the dark backing and perforation allow partial outward visibility. The effect depends on lighting conditions.

How does One Way Vision work?
The printed areas form the image while the holes allow some view through from the darker side. The one-way effect works best when it is brighter outside than inside.
The effect changes with lighting
One Way Vision is not permanent privacy film. At night, if the interior is brighter than outside, visibility can reverse and the inside may become more visible.
The material combines advertising with partial outward visibility; it should not be sold as guaranteed privacy or blackout.
Planning large windows
Large graphics are divided into strips. Joins should be coordinated with window frames and important parts of the artwork.
Provide overall dimensions, individual pane sizes and a straight-on photo of the full glazed area.
Installation and cleaning
The surface must be smooth, clean and grease-free. OWV is commonly installed outside so the print is directly visible.
Use mild cleaning products and soft cloths. Pressure washers and aggressive chemicals may damage perforation, print and edges.
Artwork for perforated film
Very small text and fine details are less suitable because part of the surface consists of holes. Use bold, high-contrast designs intended for the typical viewing distance.
PDF in CMYK is preferred. Around 100 dpi at final size is usually sufficient for large graphics.
Frequently asked questions
Can you always see outside from inside?
No. The effect depends on the lighting difference. Bright interiors and darkness outside reduce visibility.
Is OWV a privacy film?
Only to a limited extent. For reliable privacy, frosted film is usually a better choice.
Is it installed inside or outside?
Usually outside. Special cases must be assessed based on the glass and desired effect.
Can it be laminated?
Only with a suitable perforated-film laminate. Standard laminate can close the holes and reduce function.
Is it suitable for every pane?
No. Coated, damaged, structured or heat-sensitive glazing may require specialist assessment.
